Using our lightest frameset and some of the lightest available components available, we have created the lightest Ribble bicycle ever put into production. Full carbon Lightweight wheels, a THM carbon chainset and slender Cane Creek EE brakes result in a bike that weighs just 5.4kg. A hill climbing machine.
Whether it’s your favourite or nemesis ride, you visualise it in your head the night before, you know the roads like the back of your hand, every corner, climb and descent it’s as if you were there already… then press start, click in, change down, you're off, the anticipation as you glide out of town and onto the rolling roads up to the foot of the first climb. The head wind doesn’t bother you “tail wind home" you say to yourself.
As the climb draws near you're conserving energy ready ahead of the first challenge of the day, the climb rolls on and you pass a few riders in their own moment of pain and ecstasy, the gradient steepens but you're feeling good, 100m to go that final push out of the saddle and the PB is yours, the first of many today. Then focus your mind for the rewarding descent, the spoils for your effort unfolds in front of you, swooping down it’s as if you’re on rails, the swish of the tyres and the sound of the wind, at one with the machine.

The platform's comfort, stability, handling, and braking performance will inspire confidence making the Endurance SL R the perfect partner as you develop your riding ability. Ride further, comfortably with less fatigue, make light work of hills, as you progress to experience longer rides over more challenging terrain.
THE SL R SERIES
The SL R frameset is manufactured from a carefully selected blend of Toray’s T1000 and T800 carbon layered to an exacting specification using an advanced monocoque mould technology incorporating an EPS inner core system which ensures complete consistency of the structural integrity of the fibres and resin throughout the frame. This system also eliminates excess material on the inside of the frame.
Aerodynamics have been a major consideration in the development of the new Endurance SL with the new frameset generating up to 28.5% less drag compared to the previous generation.
Truncated aerofoil down tube
Aero fork blade profile
Truncated aerofoil seat tube and seat post
Internal cable routing
Optional aero one piece cockpit enabling all cables to be routed internally and away from the airflow generating over 40% less drag compared to a conventional bar and stem set up (disc brake version has all cables completely hidden and caliper brake just the front brake cable).
Power transfer and torsional stiffness have been taken into account through the tapered downtube, oversize BB area, and box section chainstays ensuring that your power wattage is efficiently transferred to forward motion. The tapered fork steerer, oversize headtube area and fork profile ensure that front end stiffness is taken care for out of the saddle efforts.
Comfort through road surface impact and vibration absorption is very important in an Endurance bike and the specific shapes and profiles of the seat stays, seat post and carbon cockpit ensure that the Endurance SL is smooth and comfortable over rough road surfaces and long distances.
The SL R frameset has discreet mudguard mounts and tyre clearances for up to 30c tyres ensuring that the Endurance SL R can be ridden in all season and weather conditions.
To assist you in selecting the correct size simply find you height below. The graphic below illustrates our recommendations so you can be confident that the size you order will be correct.

First a bit about me and my riding, I am 66 years of age, I have been riding since I was 10 years of age my riding includes, road, single speed (for commuting to work 12 miles each way in London) mountain biking (C2C and other off road tours), touring bike and over the last 4 years I have been bike packing riding in different parts of Europe. I currently live on the island of Crete, I cycle most days riding 250 to 500 kilometers a week, I am a member of the White Mountains CC; as a club we do a Gran Fondo every other month which normally includes 2,500 meters of climbing, I also do 5 day bike packing rides across Crete aiming to ride up to 200k a day. On an average ride here in Crete, 40% to 60% of every ride is climbing.
Following a visit to the Ribble bike store in Bluewater shopping center and after some discussion with the shop staff about my riding and my riding plans for the future, I decided to purchase an Endurance S-LR with Di2 Ultegra with 172.5mm crank arms, 34-50 front chain rings and an 11 speed 11-32 cassette. I decided to stay with the Aksium wheels as winter is coming with a view to upgrading early next year or changing to a pair of Dura-Ace wheels I already have.
Throughout I was kept up to date with the build and my questions to customer services were answered promptly and professional. The bike was delivered to Greece on time very well packaged and undamaged.
Having ridden the bike for the best part of 945 kilometers over the last 5 weeks I can report the bikes handing is excellent, it is a very comfortable and stable ride. In my view the spec I ordered was value for money, but of course that is subjective all depends on how much one has and wants to spend.
I ordered a medium sized bike. The bike is quick, with excellent power transfer and no flex that I could detect. I ride sometimes on rough roads and dirt tracks and the bike copes with the vibrations very well. It’s fair to say the roads here in Crete are not the smoothest, thankfully there is space for me to fit 700/28 tires and most useful for the sometimes wet winters here in Crete there are mudguard mounts. This means I can use the bike year-round. The Di2 works well on the local roads and climbs that have gradients up to 15%. The shifting and braking are excellent.
If you like riding as I do long-distance’s and climbing in comfort at a reasonable speed, the Endurance SL-R is an excellent bike 10/10.
Geoff Hilly Lancashire
I've now completed several rides around the Bowland area and across to Yorkshire. I can feel a clear aerodynamic improvement over my light weight climbing bike that is aero at the front but round tubes at the rear. Interestingly, I feel it most cycling into wind, and on longer rides.
The new style rear geometry smooths quite a bit of the road buzz as promised, and downhill handling is excellent.
It's also my first bike with DI2. The gear changing is very crisp.
I've racked up plenty of PB's and expect more to follow.
The Endurance SL R Series is our flagship carbon endurance bike, this high-performance frameset is superlight (frame sub 900g) and the truncated aerofoil profile of the tubes makes it the lightest and one of the fastest packages that we offer.
With a carefully considered geometry resulting in a frameset that offers stability, comfort and precision handling with enough adjustability to suit both endurance riders and those looking for a more performance optimised riding position. The shape and design of every tube profile and intersection is there for a reason all contributing to the overall performance and ride feel you get from the SL platform.
