THE SL R SERIES
The SL R frameset is manufactured from a carefully selected blend of Toray’s T1000 and T800 carbon layered to an exacting specification using an advanced monocoque mould technology incorporating an EPS inner core system which ensures complete consistency of the structural integrity of the fibres and resin throughout the frame. This system also eliminates excess material on the inside of the frame.
Aerodynamics have been a major consideration in the development of the new Endurance SL with the new frameset generating up to 28.5% less drag compared to the previous generation.

Optional aero one piece cockpit enabling all cables to be routed internally and away from the airflow generating over 40% less drag compared to a conventional bar and stem set up (disc brake version has all cables completely hidden and caliper brake just the front brake cable).
Power transfer and torsional stiffness have been taken into account through the tapered downtube, oversize BB area, and box section chainstays ensuring that your power wattage is efficiently transferred to forward motion. The tapered fork steerer, oversize headtube area and fork profile ensure that front end stiffness is taken care for out of the saddle efforts.
Comfort through road surface impact and vibration absorption is very important in an Endurance bike and the specific shapes and profiles of the seat stays, seat post and carbon cockpit ensure that the Endurance SL is smooth and comfortable over rough road surfaces and long distances.
The SL R frameset has discreet mudguard mounts and tyre clearances for up to 30c tyres ensuring that the Endurance SL R can be ridden in all season and weather conditions.

Endurance SL R Series – Superlight
Using our lightest frameset and some of the lightest available components available, we have created the lightest Ribble bicycle ever put into production. Full carbon Lightweight wheels, a THM carbon chainset and slender Cane Creek EE brakes result in a bike that weighs just 5.4kg. A hill climbing machine.
The fully monocoque carbon Toray 800/1000 frame weighs 850g and the matching forks 400g. A full build with Shimano Dura Ace Di2 is approximately 6.8kgs.
What is the warranty on the frame?
The frame carries a 3 year warranty. All other parts have the standard manufacturer's warranty.
What is the tyre clearance?
The SL R Series has clearance for 28mm tyres and 25mm with full length mudguards fitted.
How many bottle cage mounts are there?
There are 2 bottle cage mounts.
What is the maximum rider weight?
We recommend a maximum rider weight of 100kgs (224lbs).
Does it take mudguards?
Yes, there are mounts for fitting mudguards.
What type of bottom bracket does the frame require?
The BB shell is PF86.
What size seatpost does the SL R Series require?
The semi-aero seatpost is exclusive to the SL R Series and is supplied with the bike.
What type of front derailleur does the frame require?
The derailleur is a braze on.
Can I fit a rack?
No, the frame does not have rack mounts.
What brakes fit this frame?
The frame takes direct mount callipers.
Are the axles quick release or thru axle?
They are standard 9mm quick release axles.
Is the bike supplied with pedals?
Due to the many different systems people use we do not supply pedals with bikes but you can find a great array of pedals here.
First ride out was absolutely Amazing after riding the Ribble 525 for months, I took some measurements off the old carbon bike and transferred them to the new SL-R. I took it out for a spin and instantly fell in love. The bike was really responsive when cornering at pace and held its ground. Pulling away from a junction or the traffic light you can soon get back up to speed so you can continue your ride! Although been heavy-ish when faced with a cross wind I still managed to hold it in a straight line even after going passed a field entrance after being behind hedge cover. I’m really impressed how the frame looks, it’s nice to see a different take on the rear chain stays to the seat tube. I went for the Aero Carbon level handlebars as an upgrade, they look great and feel great when riding on the top of the bars. I do find that you do get a lot of Vibration through them, I’ve had the same issues with other carbon bars though so..... The seat post clamp is such a good idea hidden and out of sight! Taking a look at the steerer tube cap, personally I think it’s a bit big and bulky but different. I personally preferred A standard steerer tube and stem spacers like on the R872.
All in all really happy with my new Ribble Endurance SL-R
First a bit about me and my riding, I am 66 years of age, I have been riding since I was 10 years of age my riding includes, road, single speed (for commuting to work 12 miles each way in London) mountain biking (C2C and other off road tours), touring bike and over the last 4 years I have been bike packing riding in different parts of Europe. I currently live on the island of Crete, I cycle most days riding 250 to 500 kilometers a week, I am a member of the White Mountains CC; as a club we do a Gran Fondo every other month which normally includes 2,500 meters of climbing, I also do 5 day bike packing rides across Crete aiming to ride up to 200k a day. On an average ride here in Crete, 40% to 60% of every ride is climbing.
Following a visit to the Ribble bike store in Bluewater shopping center and after some discussion with the shop staff about my riding and my riding plans for the future, I decided to purchase an Endurance S-LR with Di2 Ultegra with 172.5mm crank arms, 34-50 front chain rings and an 11 speed 11-32 cassette. I decided to stay with the Aksium wheels as winter is coming with a view to upgrading early next year or changing to a pair of Dura-Ace wheels I already have.
Throughout I was kept up to date with the build and my questions to customer services were answered promptly and professional. The bike was delivered to Greece on time very well packaged and undamaged.
Having ridden the bike for the best part of 945 kilometers over the last 5 weeks I can report the bikes handing is excellent, it is a very comfortable and stable ride. In my view the spec I ordered was value for money, but of course that is subjective all depends on how much one has and wants to spend.
I ordered a medium sized bike. The bike is quick, with excellent power transfer and no flex that I could detect. I ride sometimes on rough roads and dirt tracks and the bike copes with the vibrations very well. It’s fair to say the roads here in Crete are not the smoothest, thankfully there is space for me to fit 700/28 tires and most useful for the sometimes wet winters here in Crete there are mudguard mounts. This means I can use the bike year-round. The Di2 works well on the local roads and climbs that have gradients up to 15%. The shifting and braking are excellent.
If you like riding as I do long-distance’s and climbing in comfort at a reasonable speed, the Endurance SL-R is an excellent bike 10/10.
