I bought this bike to replace my Ribble titanium road bike which cracked after 4 years of use.
Not wanting to take another trip down titanium avenue I decided to go with a steel frame bike.
The frame is built from triple butted Reynolds 725 tubing, the welds are neatly finished and the head tube flares out to a large diameter at the bottom in order to house a larger bottom bearing.
The 105 groupset is faultless in use, gears shift without hesitation and the calliper brakes work smoothly and progressively.
The Mavic aksium wheels seem to be a dependable quality set and inspire confidence.
The bike overall handles nicely and you get a feeling of stability even on fast descents over 35 mph.
I may have to fit a slightly longer stem, but overall I'm pretty impressed.
The white paint finish sparkles in the sunlight, there seem to be tiny metallic particles in the paint.
thereis also dark blue banding on the seat tube and on the carbon fork.
all in all the bike is well finished.
the packaging was very good and gave the bike plenty of protection during transit.

Love the bike. Obviously a bit heavier than my aluminium bike, but so much more comfortable. Had it a week and put done around 70km on it.

The bike was packacegd really well. As good as my Canyon Endurace, who charge for extra for a shipping box.

My gears aren't as snappy as my Canyon and they are both on 105. The Ribble sometimes fails to move, or catches on the front derailur. Probably an easy fix for someone who knows how, with cable tension or whatever, but a bit annoying for someone who leaves all maintenance to my local bike shop.

I think the instructions and unboxing experience from Canyon is a tiny bit better. They include a little torque wrench / allen key tool. I used it on the Ribble, but without having one from a previous purchase, I would have had to go out buy one.

Overall though, extremely happy with the purchase.

My biggest criticism is with myself for only just getting my first steel frame!
