This build offers one of Shimano's premium groupsets the Shimano 105 which is the first option in Shimano's 11 speed range. If you require a lightweight build with one of the best performing and best value groupsets on the market then this is the build for you. With visually pleasing aesthetics as well as slick and precise shifting 105 has the same exceptional performance characteristics of its bigger brother the Ultegra at only a slightly heavier weight. We have again chosen to pair this with Mavic Aksiums due to their reliability, at this price point the Aksiums are simply one of the premier sets of wheels around.

The Ribble Alloy CX is the ideal choice for entry into cyclocross racing or for those fast all weather commutes. With its lightweight Aluminium frame and mudguard compatibility this bike ticks more than one box when it comes to versatility.

Ben Williams
As a cycling novice (last bike I owned was a BMX bike as a child around 20 years ago) this whole Covid-19 lockdown had got me thinking it was time I got myself a decent bike and luckily for me I work with some huge cycling enthusiasts so after a good few weeks research it was only a matter of time that I found myself deciding which Ribble bike I would go for.

I needed something that would be

• suitable for commuting (gravel, potholes, off road etc.)
• comfortable for family cycles
• something that would be fast enough to keep up with friends and family on road bikes.

Ribble’s online showroom was hugely helpful and I quickly found a bike that ticked all of the boxes. (Really a great idea to help keep their business operating safely and can see this being a great business move for them).

The Bike - Ribble CX AL. Shimano 105

The bike arrived last week, it was easily assembled and I’ve since done approx. 200km.

It has an excellent range of gears for the hills and generally has the set up of a good road bike with the exception being the tyres which could be easily swapped for road tyres.

Another huge plus was the adaptability of the bike builder that really allows you to customise just about every aspect of your bike to suit your needs.

Some stats from my first cycle*:

Distance: 28.29km
Elevation Gain: 329m
Time: 1:07:29
Avg Speed: 25.2km/h
Max Elevation: 170m
Mad Speed: 66.2km/h

*Wind low and condition all round great with no rain.

The Ribble CX AL truly is a super smooth flying machine that ticks a lot of boxes for those looking for a versatile bike. Overall I am delighted with the bike and the service.

Very good service. Great bike and easy to assemble. Prompt With email replies. Bike is good on the road. Lighter than expected especially as I added on the mud guards. Haven’t tried it yet with my burley trailer but I suspect it will be great.
