Perfect for gravel riding the CGR AL has plenty of mud and tyre clearance to be used with 650B or 700c wheels. With 3 bottle cage mounts, pannier rack and mudguard lugs and a geometry suited to off-road riding the CGR AL can be used on a wide range of surfaces and is at home on smooth road as it is on a forest bridleway.
A choice of 1x gearing systems from Shimano. Single chainrings with a wide range cassette have become the go-to choice for gravel riding due to the extra mud clearance and increased simplicity that is offered from not using a front derailleur.
650B on this build wheels offer bigger air volume in the tyres which helps absorb the rough terrain that is usually found when gravel riding. For those looking for a 700c wheelset, the option is given in BikeBuilder to change to this wheel size.
Finishing kit is a personal choice on a gravel bike with options given the the flared bars as well as a more standard road set-up. Flared bars offer increased control when descending on the drops, giving more confidence to the rider as well as having more space if handlebar bags are being used.

I ordered my CGR Al on 20 April, expecting it to arrive 21 working days later. I received it on from ArrowXL (courier) on 6 May, very well packaged, with everything installed; all I needed to do was installed seat post and bars not a problem at all! On receiving, everything was greased in the right places, the order was exactly as I requested, and it was clear that whoever prepared it took their time to get it right.
The bike itself is GREAT! I took it out on the day that I got it in some light gravel and have done some gravel riding since. I find the entire bike feels light compared to my other gravel bike. The GRX 610 1x11 groupset is great (compared to my current 2x10 Tiagra) with smooth shifting, excellent hydraulic disc braking and comfortable levers. Apart from all of this, I found the price to be excellent value for money especially compared to equivalent builds elsewhere in the UK. One very small gripe is that some paint chipped from chainstay sheet after first ride. A protector will prevent that though (and remembering to engage the clutch on derailleur!) My next purchase will almost certainly be from Ribble.
