- are these suitable for rollers or are their specific to turbo trainer? if so, what happens if one used them on rollers?

Turbo tyres are designed for on a turbo trainer, due to the lack of sideways movement and pressure placed on them by a roller. There is no need to use turbo tyres on rollers, it may give less grip due to the polished surfaces of both the tyre and the rollers. I would advise just to use normal road tyres.
